Narrative:

On approach into lax, we were cleared the stadium visibility to 24R. Shortly after that, we were told to maintain 070 degree heading and 4000'. The captain was flying, and seemed confused. He continued on the stadium visibility. I reminded him to maintain the heading and 4000'. He continued to descend. I immediately asked for the visibility from approach control. Reluctantly they granted permission for the visibility. At that point he started toward 25R (south complex). They were also using 25R for arrs. I pointed out immediately that we were cleared the visibility for 24R, not 25R. The captain seemed to have trouble transitioning from the autoflt system to manually flying the aircraft.

Title: CAPT OF ACR MLG ON VISUAL APCH INTO LAX IS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO MAINTAIN ALT AND HEADING BUT DOES NOT COMPLY EVEN WHEN REMINDED BY HIS FO.

Narrative: ON APCH INTO LAX, WE WERE CLRED THE STADIUM VIS TO 24R. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, WE WERE TOLD TO MAINTAIN 070 DEG HDG AND 4000'. THE CAPT WAS FLYING, AND SEEMED CONFUSED. HE CONTINUED ON THE STADIUM VIS. I REMINDED HIM TO MAINTAIN THE HDG AND 4000'. HE CONTINUED TO DSND. I IMMEDIATELY ASKED FOR THE VIS FROM APCH CTL. RELUCTANTLY THEY GRANTED PERMISSION FOR THE VIS. AT THAT POINT HE STARTED TOWARD 25R (S COMPLEX). THEY WERE ALSO USING 25R FOR ARRS. I POINTED OUT IMMEDIATELY THAT WE WERE CLRED THE VIS FOR 24R, NOT 25R. THE CAPT SEEMED TO HAVE TROUBLE TRANSITIONING FROM THE AUTOFLT SYS TO MANUALLY FLYING THE ACFT.
