Narrative:
First officer was flying a visual approach at night to 31L at dal. As we were turning final abeam downtown; we got a caution obstacle warning. The first officer initiated a go-around and as soon as he did the caution obstacle warning stopped. I had him continue the approach to a landing with no further warnings occurring. Because it was night; we should have continued the go-around even though the warning had stopped.
