Narrative:

In 1/90 I taxied aircraft to the terminal gate. Prior to leaving the hangar, we were told we had to pressurize the aircraft because they had done some prior work in the nose wheel well area. I did my exterior walk-around of the aircraft prior to taxi and didn't notice any streamer hanging from the nose wheel well. The aircraft was taxied to the gate after the pressurization check and nose steering operational check. After the aircraft departed for a trip it air interrupted due to a nose gear ground lock pin that had not been removed. The landing gear pin was recovered, we measured the streamer on the pin and it was 22' long. Being 22' long the streamer wouldn't be noticeable hanging down--in fact, the streamer was wrapped around the down lock link. According to airlines, the streamer was supposed to be 36' long and it was not, which may have also contributed to it being overlooked. Incident occurred at ord.

Narrative: IN 1/90 I TAXIED ACFT TO THE TERMINAL GATE. PRIOR TO LEAVING THE HANGAR, WE WERE TOLD WE HAD TO PRESSURIZE THE ACFT BECAUSE THEY HAD DONE SOME PRIOR WORK IN THE NOSE WHEEL WELL AREA. I DID MY EXTERIOR WALK-AROUND OF THE ACFT PRIOR TO TAXI AND DIDN'T NOTICE ANY STREAMER HANGING FROM THE NOSE WHEEL WELL. THE ACFT WAS TAXIED TO THE GATE AFTER THE PRESSURIZATION CHK AND NOSE STEERING OPERATIONAL CHK. AFTER THE ACFT DEPARTED FOR A TRIP IT AIR INTERRUPTED DUE TO A NOSE GEAR GND LOCK PIN THAT HAD NOT BEEN REMOVED. THE LNDG GEAR PIN WAS RECOVERED, WE MEASURED THE STREAMER ON THE PIN AND IT WAS 22' LONG.
