Narrative:

Miscom with tower. Taxi (ground control) clearance to taxi to 32. Hold at wind sock. Then cleared to taxi to 32, hold at hold line. PIC understood cleared for takeoff 32. Left turn to 180 degrees (original clearance: after departure, fly 130 degrees, climb...). PIC understood takeoff clearance as runway 32. After departure tower reference cleared for 23. Either ATC clearance wrong or PIC heard wrong.
