Narrative:

We were flying a right-hand pattern. On downwind we were extending 4-5 mi for traffic. Our small aircraft X was cleared to follow an small aircraft Y on base, so we did. Everything was ok until short final. We were cleared to land when another small aircraft Z passed us on the left. He was closer than any formation flying I have every done before and going faster than us. I went around to the right. The small aircraft Z never saw us and landed while we were forced to go around. I have been flight instructing at prc for 3 months now and just became aware of your program. I have had numerous encounters similar to this one because of our lack of equipment to handle our traffic on this field. I have been flying at prc for 3 yrs and the traffic pattern has progressed past a safe level. The question is not whether or not we will have a midair collision, but when.

I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ENCOUNTERS SIMILAR TO THIS ONE BECAUSE OF OUR LACK OF EQUIP TO HANDLE OUR TFC ON THIS FIELD. I HAVE BEEN FLYING AT PRC FOR 3 YRS AND THE TFC PATTERN HAS PROGRESSED PAST A SAFE LEVEL. THE QUESTION IS NOT WHETHER OR NOT WE WILL HAVE A MIDAIR COLLISION, BUT WHEN.
