Narrative:

Ground control cleared us for taxi to runway 8, hold short runway 17, then cleared us to taxi runway 8. We called ready for takeoff runway 8, and tower cleared us for takeoff runway 8. There were no other planes in sight runway 8. We rolled onto runway 8 and took off. After climbing to approximately 700', the tower called 'small aircraft just departed, what is your destination?' we replied '030 degrees to laguna.' tower: 'you just took off west/O being cleared, and I had to abort 2 other takeoffs--after you land, call me.' a tape replay showed communications between tower and our small aircraft were incomplete and stepped on (different tower frequencys and not able to hear each other).

Narrative: GND CTL CLRED US FOR TAXI TO RWY 8, HOLD SHORT RWY 17, THEN CLRED US TO TAXI RWY 8. WE CALLED READY FOR TKOF RWY 8, AND TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF RWY 8.
