Narrative:

In position on runway and cleared for takeoff. After spooling engines and starting forward motion, red 'cabin door open' light illuminated. I immediately reduced power to idle and taxied off at first taxiway. Airspeed never came off of the peg, but estimated speed 20-25 KTS. There was no need for spoilers, reverse thrust, or more than light braking. Parked on taxiway. I asked the second officer to check all of the cabin doors. All doors were cycled and visually checked secured. The 'cabin door open' light remained on. I then asked the second officer to recycle the right aft cabin door, which had been the problem before on previous write-ups. Door was cycled a few times. Door was closed and visually checked secure. 'Cabin door open' light went out this time. Cabin doors all plug type doors. Checked to make sure cabin would pressurize. Pressurized ok. Returned to runway for takeoff. Shortly after takeoff 'cabin door open' light came on. Pressurized ok, continued to destination. My thoughts were that once the airplane had left the blocks, the 'flight' had begun. The doors were checked secured, per the MEL. The flight could depart safely, so there was no need to return to the gate to have the door warning light deferred by maintenance.

Narrative: IN POS ON RWY AND CLRED FOR TKOF. AFTER SPOOLING ENGS AND STARTING FORWARD MOTION, RED 'CABIN DOOR OPEN' LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I IMMEDIATELY REDUCED PWR TO IDLE AND TAXIED OFF AT FIRST TXWY. AIRSPD NEVER CAME OFF OF THE PEG, BUT ESTIMATED SPD 20-25 KTS. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR SPOILERS, REVERSE THRUST, OR MORE THAN LIGHT BRAKING. PARKED ON TXWY. I ASKED THE S/O TO CHK ALL OF THE CABIN DOORS. ALL DOORS WERE CYCLED AND VISUALLY CHKED SECURED. THE 'CABIN DOOR OPEN' LIGHT REMAINED ON. I THEN ASKED THE S/O TO RECYCLE THE RIGHT AFT CABIN DOOR, WHICH HAD BEEN THE PROB BEFORE ON PREVIOUS WRITE-UPS. DOOR WAS CYCLED A FEW TIMES. DOOR WAS CLOSED AND VISUALLY CHKED SECURE. 'CABIN DOOR OPEN' LIGHT WENT OUT THIS TIME. CABIN DOORS ALL PLUG TYPE DOORS. CHKED TO MAKE SURE CABIN WOULD PRESSURIZE. PRESSURIZED OK. RETURNED TO RWY FOR TKOF. SHORTLY AFTER TKOF 'CABIN DOOR OPEN' LIGHT CAME ON. PRESSURIZED OK, CONTINUED TO DEST. MY THOUGHTS WERE THAT ONCE THE AIRPLANE HAD LEFT THE BLOCKS, THE 'FLT' HAD BEGUN. THE DOORS WERE CHKED SECURED, PER THE MEL. THE FLT COULD DEPART SAFELY, SO THERE WAS NO NEED TO RETURN TO THE GATE TO HAVE THE DOOR WARNING LIGHT DEFERRED BY MAINT.
