Narrative:

Upon arrival at the aircraft we did all of our preflight duties. After checking the log and looking at mels we boarded the flight and departed. The flight was uneventful and we returned to base. After handing the aircraft off to the next crew we later found out that a maintenance inspection had been overlooked by maintenance control and the aircraft had been taken out of service. This was a surprise to my first officer and myself as we had no way of knowing that an inspection was due.

Narrative: Upon arrival at the aircraft we did all of our preflight duties. After checking the log and looking at MELs we boarded the flight and departed. The flight was uneventful and we returned to base.
