Narrative:

One night; an airplane maintenance technician (amt) was troubleshooting a seat issue on a 777 when one of the seat actuators inadvertently moved. The amt had his thumb amputated on the spot. My question is; if the company truly cared about safety for the employees; how is it that the company has stayed silent on this event? While all the facts of the case aren't known; I'm sure the company could have issued some type of alert to make sure this did not happen again.
