Narrative:

We experience severe turbulence unexpected in flight and cabin crews in main cabin were thrown around and 2 or 3 were actually hurt during the incident. Captain called back to advised to put carts away; but at that point it was too late for everyone. I was able to bring my cart back to the galley; but not everyone was able. Other crew members [saw a] cart on the floor flipped and crew members on the floor trying to hold on to anything they could since the flight was full and we did not have enough jumpseats in the back for every flight attendant to take one.
