Narrative:
On the morning of dec/thu/89 I was making a local pleasure flight out of northwest regional airport, roanoke, tx. Flying southwest of 52F I saw a flight of 2 military jets. These jets were flying a low level pass down the runway at the new alliance airport. Looking down on the new airport we saw more activity than normal for airport under construction. After my flight I called FSS for local NOTAMS. Turns out alliance was having its grand opening. Bottom line: I was in an air traffic area without authorization. I should have checked NOTAMS before flight.

AFTER MY FLT I CALLED FSS FOR LOCAL NOTAMS. TURNS OUT ALLIANCE WAS HAVING ITS GRAND OPENING. BOTTOM LINE: I WAS IN AN ATA WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED NOTAMS BEFORE FLT.
