Narrative:

On a flight to the shenandoah airport, we opted to fly the ILS 5 west/O the assistance of ZDC. We flew the approach as published, landed and called center to cancel the IFR flight plan on the ground. The controller advised that we had strayed outside the 10 mi limitation from the stant NDB, which is the approach fix. All cockpit indications at the time of the approach and procedure turn showed that we were within the 10 mi perimeter. Center did not advise that we were outside of protected airspace during the approach.
