Narrative:

We called for takeoff clearance at XX48 at which time the tower gave us new WX of 1/4 mi visibility. We had already determined we were legal and again told tower we were ready. The tone of his voice made it seem to us that he thought we would have to delay takeoff while we checked legality. As I said we already knew we were good for 1/4 mi. Then, at approximately 80 KTS, and while still on the runway the tower asked if we copied our takeoff clearance. Halfway into a takeoff roll is no time to ask questions over the radio.
