Narrative:

Climbing between sdf and tys departure handed us off to center, with a 10000' altitude restriction to intercept J99. When I was typing the direct intercept course into the CDU, apparently the captain was watching me type when he passed through 10000' and exceeded the altitude by 700'. I alerted him of the deviation. We reconverged immediately to 10000' and contacted center level at 10000'. The deviation was a result of the PF not monitoring the gauges and worrying about the now PF's duties. Obviously a lesson well-learned that the PF stay flying and the PNF take care of the non-flying duties. Division of duties and crew concept speaks well here.
