Title: Pilot used wrong fix on departure causing the aircraft to turn in the wrong direction. Pilot misunderstood fix name in clearance and did not realize it.
Narrative: Received/copied clearance for Fresno Eight; as filed. Misunderstood the spelling of the first fix: it was actually FRAME.
