Narrative:

Taxiing up to the taxiway; about 75 feet out; I saw a catering truck approaching from the left. I was watching that it slowed and it stopped outside prior to safety zone. I was continuing the taxi when another catering truck was approaching at high speed from the right. It was clear that the vehicle would not stop; so I applied heavy breaking to stop. I do not believe we would have collided; but it was closer than I was comfortable with. Given recent events; this driver was operating rather recklessly. Ground equipment drivers need to respect the right of way of aircraft and slow down.
