Narrative:

Atx X departed hou-aus climb 4000, atx Y at 5000 wbound to sgr 4 south hou. Traffic issued to atx X reported in sight. The atx X vectored behind and just inside or northeast of atx Y. Turned the atx X to 300 degree and climbed to 6000' to apply course divergence with atx Y. The aircraft were on other side from each other than originally thought which caused error. Error occurred due to incorrect application of course divergence.

Narrative: ATX X DEPARTED HOU-AUS CLIMB 4000, ATX Y AT 5000 WBOUND TO SGR 4 S HOU. TFC ISSUED TO ATX X REPORTED IN SIGHT. THE ATX X VECTORED BEHIND AND JUST INSIDE OR NE OF ATX Y. TURNED THE ATX X TO 300 DEG AND CLIMBED TO 6000' TO APPLY COURSE DIVERGENCE WITH ATX Y. THE ACFT WERE ON OTHER SIDE FROM EACH OTHER THAN ORIGINALLY THOUGHT WHICH CAUSED ERROR. ERROR OCCURRED DUE TO INCORRECT APPLICATION OF COURSE DIVERGENCE.
