Narrative:

I was in the center seat performing the international relief officer duties during the departure phase leaving an asian airport. While on the SID we were given a clearance to climb to 3;900 meters and to follow the SID. Performing the pilot position that converts meters to feet; I immediately went to the conversion chart and momentarily disassociated myself from what was actually being done by the 2 front seat pilots. After I converted meters to feet and the monitoring pilot was done communicating with the controller; I called out the cleared altitude in feet. The miscommunication can be better explained by the 2 flying pilots as I didn't hear what was actually being said while doing the meters to feet conversion.
