Narrative:
Asked to make a crossing restriction 45 southwest of bellaire at FL240. Having only 3 hours in type, I misread the altimeter (drum type). Thought I made restriction but in fact was 900' above that altitude requested. A clear case of being new on the aircraft, a little behind the aircraft, and misreading an unfamiliar altimeter display.

Title: CROSSING RESTRICTION NOT MADE IN DESCENT BY ACR FO.
Narrative: ASKED TO MAKE A XING RESTRICTION 45 SW OF BELLAIRE AT FL240. HAVING ONLY 3 HRS IN TYPE, I MISREAD THE ALTIMETER (DRUM TYPE). THOUGHT I MADE RESTRICTION BUT IN FACT WAS 900' ABOVE THAT ALT REQUESTED. A CLEAR CASE OF BEING NEW ON THE ACFT, A LITTLE BEHIND THE ACFT, AND MISREADING AN UNFAMILIAR ALTIMETER DISPLAY.
