Narrative:

Departed and turned northbound; climbed to 4;000 feet for traffic. Passed traffic then cleared to climb to 8;500 feet; started the climb and manifold pressure went to 26 inches on left engine. Contacted approach to advise that I was returning to departure airport due to engine indication issue; oil pressure then dropped to zero but oil temp and cylinder temperature normal thoughout incident up to engine shut down. Turned back to the airport to land. No smoke from the engine through out just reduced power; during manuever for landing for final left engine shuddered; so I shut down and feathered engine. Landed with no other incident.
