Narrative:

Aircraft cleared for ILS 16L approach (RVR 2200). I believe there was a 737 sequenced to follow. Approach lights visible from approx. 10 miles. I maintained 170 knots and flaps up configuration until DH. Approach light system visible at DH. Decision to continue to 100 hat. Reduced power to approx. 800lbs; and as aircraft decelerated; deployed flaps 10; and began division of attention between inside and outside reference; focusing on acquiring threshold markings. The sequenced flashers (rabbit) was not on. I thought I saw the touchdown zone lighting. Reduced power further in anticipation of touchdown and deployed flaps 20. At that point; realized I was still over the ALS; initiated go-around. During the go around transition; the aircraft contacted the approach light system. As the aircraft ascended above the ALS; the runway surface was plainly in sight. Because of the apparent contact with the approach lights; landing was prudent. Touchdown on main gear was normal; and when the nose wheel subsequently touched down; the aircraft made an immediate hard left turn; the aircraft left the runway; crossed the grass median and was able to stop at the edge of twy B.coordinating a slower approach configuration with ATC (approach and tower) and full use of airport facilities equipment (i.e. Use of the sequenced flashers during low visibility conditions).

Title: C208B pilot reported contacting the approach light system on an instrument approach. Pilot elected to continue landing; and lost control of the aircraft after touch down.
