Narrative:

Bright sun shining into windscreen making the instruments difficult to see. Given clearance to takeoff at an intersection shortening taxi time by 4 mins. Normal checklist was completed but flaps overlooked by both the captain and first officer. Takeoff was rejected when the confign warning went off. Flaps set to proper 18 degree deflection and a normal takeoff was accomplished. Contributing factors: complacency and 12:30 hours of duty affecting fatigue. No excuses. We messed up. Embarrassment approaching humiliation and the realization that it can happen to me also.
