Narrative:
Aircraft X auto-popped on my radar scope with no coordination or a handoff. There was no auto-flash either. I contacted cleveland center's rochester sector and inquired about the aircraft and they had no idea who the aircraft was. I requested communication with the aircraft and after about 10 seconds; the aircraft checked on. Be more diligent on mode C intruders if there are any.

Title: ZBW Controller reports of an aircraft that auto-pops onto his scope. Calls another sector to see who the aircraft is and they do not know. Aircraft calls Controller a few seconds later.
Narrative: Aircraft X auto-popped on my radar scope with no coordination or a handoff. There was no auto-flash either. I contacted Cleveland Center's Rochester sector and inquired about the aircraft and they had no idea who the aircraft was. I requested communication with the aircraft and after about 10 seconds; the aircraft checked on. Be more diligent on Mode C intruders if there are any.
