Narrative:

We received ATC clearance from dfw clearance delivery. A portion of the filed route of flight included maren dct 28N 120 west dct 26N 130 west. In the vicinity of maren intersection, we received SELCAL from sfo radio on HF. Sfo radio's message stated that airspace had been released from controled airspace. Shortly after this, we were handed off by mmzt ATC to ZOA. Oak informed us that we were entering an active area for which they could not issued a clearance, not contact the military to obtain clearance. Oak suggested a turn to heading 320 degrees to clear area.
