Narrative:

Ground control instructed us to taxi to runway 04R and to hold short of runway 04L. We crossed runway 09 (not being used) and held short of 04L as instructed. I could see an medium large transport on final for 04L. When the medium large transport was about 1/2 mi final the ground controller advised to cross 04L immediately and that we had violated the hold line for 04L. I could see that there was no hold line due to recent repaving, and I was clear of the runway, and that it would be poor judgement to try and cross 04L with the medium large transport so close, and I was unspooled and stopped. The medium large transport completed his approach and did land, then we were recleared to cross 04L and contact tower for an 04R takeoff. Boston needs to get some paint down on the wsw corner of the airport, it's my information that many pilots have had trouble in that area.

Title: FLT CREW OF MLG ALLEGEDLY TAXIED PAST TXWY HOLD LINE POSITION FOR RWY 4L AT BOS.

Narrative: GND CTL INSTRUCTED US TO TAXI TO RWY 04R AND TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 04L. WE CROSSED RWY 09 (NOT BEING USED) AND HELD SHORT OF 04L AS INSTRUCTED. I COULD SEE AN MLG ON FINAL FOR 04L. WHEN THE MLG WAS ABOUT 1/2 MI FINAL THE GND CTLR ADVISED TO CROSS 04L IMMEDIATELY AND THAT WE HAD VIOLATED THE HOLD LINE FOR 04L. I COULD SEE THAT THERE WAS NO HOLD LINE DUE TO RECENT REPAVING, AND I WAS CLEAR OF THE RWY, AND THAT IT WOULD BE POOR JUDGEMENT TO TRY AND CROSS 04L WITH THE MLG SO CLOSE, AND I WAS UNSPOOLED AND STOPPED. THE MLG COMPLETED HIS APCH AND DID LAND, THEN WE WERE RECLEARED TO CROSS 04L AND CONTACT TWR FOR AN 04R TKOF. BOSTON NEEDS TO GET SOME PAINT DOWN ON THE WSW CORNER OF THE ARPT, IT'S MY INFORMATION THAT MANY PLTS HAVE HAD TROUBLE IN THAT AREA.
