Narrative:

On arrival to mci, there were several strong thunderstorms of the arrival route. So not to be vectored into the large red cell, we kept asking for lower. We were cleared to 3000 MSL (2000 AGL). We reported the airport in sight so not to be vectored out too far also. The airport winds started to change dramatically with wind shear. The turbulence was severe and yanked the controls out of my hands twice. The airspeed indicators were moving from 210 to 250 and down to 170 KTS at the worst times. The captain got mad because when he looked at the airspeed it was up around 250 KTS saying it was fast after he showed them thrust levers close. You do not do that to an medium large transport that close to the ground. There is an a/D explaining this. I was trying to keep a constant speed of 210 KTS and approximately 45% to 1 min with only slow power changes. They cleared us for the visual as I turned base and still getting beat up with turbulence ATC advised us that severe turbulence was reported in front of us on final and asked if we could accept runway 27. I told the captain that I would rather make a right turn and go to tulsa, ok, but he said let's try runway 27. They only had 15 to 20 KT losses on final so now we were cleared for a visual to 27 now made an approximately 300 degree circle around the whole airport. I've got the power back to min with a reference speed of 130 KTS and approach speed of 150 KTS for wind landing gear down flaps 30 and the aircraft would not descend for a short time. I told the captain that if I didn't like the approach I wanted a quick left turn to the south and he advised the tower. The captain is not WX smart at all, we had a problem all month. The captain in his opinion thinks that civilian pilots should not be communication pilots and that you need to have landed on an aircraft carrier to be good.
