Narrative:
While flying at 3;000 feet on downwind into norfolk I noticed an object off the left side of the aircraft less then 200 feet below us and 1/4 mile to our left; the object was not a plane and did not appear to be balloons. It did however appear to be some sort of unmanned aerial system. We advise approach of the event and followed up with a call once on the ground. After calling tower I called the dispatch supervisor and the chief pilot.
