Narrative:

In reduced visibility at ord on outer taxiway, heading clockwise (eastbound), it is possible to continue taxi onto runway 9L thinking you are still on the outer. This is normally called the circle. Yellow taxi lines lead onto 9L on the high speed for 27R. This is probably not a problem for pilots familiar with ord. However, a more distinct marking system or lights to make certain no one transgresses 9L-27R. Note: inner taxiway has green leading lights on centerline.

Title: NO INCIDENT--REPORTER IS ALERTING ASRS TO THE POTENTIAL FOR AN INADVERTENT RWY INCURSION IN LOW VISIBILITY CONDITIONS.

Narrative: IN REDUCED VISIBILITY AT ORD ON OUTER TXWY, HDG CLOCKWISE (EBND), IT IS POSSIBLE TO CONTINUE TAXI ONTO RWY 9L THINKING YOU ARE STILL ON THE OUTER. THIS IS NORMALLY CALLED THE CIRCLE. YELLOW TAXI LINES LEAD ONTO 9L ON THE HIGH SPD FOR 27R. THIS IS PROBABLY NOT A PROB FOR PLTS FAMILIAR WITH ORD. HOWEVER, A MORE DISTINCT MARKING SYS OR LIGHTS TO MAKE CERTAIN NO ONE TRANSGRESSES 9L-27R. NOTE: INNER TXWY HAS GREEN LEADING LIGHTS ON CENTERLINE.
