Narrative:

Leveling off at FL350; we heard a loud pop followed by a red electrical glow in the front right corner windshield on the captain's side of the cockpit. Immediately a spider web-cracking of the windshield occurred. The captain declared an emergency to ATC and advised the flight attendants of the situation and of the diversion. I was flying and communicating to ATC while the captain read the QRH procedures. We landed overweight and roll-out was non-eventful. We were followed into parking. Maintenance was on hand at the gate and we transferred to another aircraft to continue our trip.
