Narrative:

I was cleared to land on 28R in sfo, and during the landing roll, was told to turn right at intersection lima. I was unable to make lima and as I crossed the 01's I was advised by tower to expedite immediately off the runway. I proceeded to turn right at the next intersection and contacted ground for further clearance. I then learned that tower had wanted a left turn on echo (the high speed). Neither intersection papa nor lima was marked, I was involved in a critical phase of flight with no time to refer to an airport diagram, and that this was the first time I have ever received a clearance to turn right off of 28R were all contributing factors in missing the exit.

Title: LCL CTLR ISSUES UNEXPECTED RWY EXIT INFORMATION TO FLT CREW OF COMMUTER ACFT ON ROLLOUT. LIMITED TIME AVAILABLE, UNUSUAL DIRECTION FOR TURN, AND TXWYS NOT MARKED CONTRIBUTE TO ACFT NOT MAKING THE REQUESTED EXIT.

Narrative: I WAS CLRED TO LAND ON 28R IN SFO, AND DURING THE LNDG ROLL, WAS TOLD TO TURN RIGHT AT INTXN LIMA. I WAS UNABLE TO MAKE LIMA AND AS I CROSSED THE 01'S I WAS ADVISED BY TWR TO EXPEDITE IMMEDIATELY OFF THE RWY. I PROCEEDED TO TURN RIGHT AT THE NEXT INTXN AND CONTACTED GND FOR FURTHER CLRNC. I THEN LEARNED THAT TWR HAD WANTED A LEFT TURN ON ECHO (THE HIGH SPEED). NEITHER INTXN PAPA NOR LIMA WAS MARKED, I WAS INVOLVED IN A CRITICAL PHASE OF FLT WITH NO TIME TO REFER TO AN ARPT DIAGRAM, AND THAT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER RECEIVED A CLRNC TO TURN RIGHT OFF OF 28R WERE ALL CONTRIBUTING FACTORS IN MISSING THE EXIT.
