Narrative:
Aircraft was dispatched with cdl item: slat jack and slat track shutter missing. Captain misread cdl (confign deviation list) interpreting negligible performance penalty. En route crew reevaluated the cdl and determined that major performance penalty for landing applied. (550' reduction at stt of effective runway length). Aircraft was 289,000 pounds for landing and to comply with landing performance aircraft was diverted to sju.

Narrative: ACFT WAS DISPATCHED WITH CDL ITEM: SLAT JACK AND SLAT TRACK SHUTTER MISSING. CAPT MISREAD CDL (CONFIGN DEVIATION LIST) INTERPRETING NEGLIGIBLE PERFORMANCE PENALTY. ENRTE CREW REEVALUATED THE CDL AND DETERMINED THAT MAJOR PERFORMANCE PENALTY FOR LNDG APPLIED. (550' REDUCTION AT STT OF EFFECTIVE RWY LENGTH).
