Narrative:

I was inbound from the northwest to land at skyhaven airport in small aircraft X. At 10 mi out I called for airport advisory. After 2 tries I got a very weak reply that 18 was the active. I reported entering a left upwind for 18. I was looking at runway for traffic. About that time I looked up to see an small aircraft Y above and to my left. We both made a right turn at that time. I left the pattern and called unicom to verify the pattern at sky haven airport and was told 18 has right traffic, so I reentered, landed without incident. I asked the man at the counter if he knew there were other aircraft in the pattern and he said yes, there were 2 training aircraft in the pattern without radios. The unicom operator could be a big assistance by advising approaching aircraft when 'right traffic' is in use and that 'no radio aircraft' are in the pattern.
