Narrative:

After I arrived at the plane on time [on the hour]; the captain briefed us on the weather and the flight time. I started my security check three minutes later; when I heard the C flight attendant announce we were boarding (flight was scheduled to push at [30 past the hour]). I responded on the PA that I would be ready in 5 minutes as I hadn't even stowed my luggage. I usually do my security check before anything else because that is most important. I was delayed by 3 minutes because the captain wanted to brief us. I had checked about 4 compartments when passengers came aboard. I did not complete my security check until after pre boarding was over. During boarding; I continued with my new equipment checks before attending to galley duties like opening kits and cleaning coffee pots and stowing my luggage. After boarding; I walked to the front of the plane to sign the ron security sheet. I asked the a where it was; and the a replied that it was already done. I never checked off on the ron security sheet as it was already filled out and turned in by the a flight attendant without my knowledge. We need more time to complete security checks and before boarding on originating flights especially when the captain wishes to do a crew briefing. Ops agents need to check with flight attendants before boarding and notify the crew when boarding starts to make sure security checks are done and we are in our boarding positions ready for boarding.
