Narrative:

On climbout of roa the main cabin door warning light illuminated, leaving 4000'. The door was checked for security, the cabin depressurized, but the warning light did not extinguish. A precautionary landing was executed in accordance with the emergency checklist. It was then determined that the door pins worked normal but the warning light did not. The light was deferred and the flight was completed. The position of the door pins was difficult to ascertain in flight and I feel should be more certain considering the catastrophic results of a blown open door.
