Narrative:

Remarks: clearance received to push back tail west, spot 82. Aircraft pushed back at XX26Z from gate B. It was first officer's leg so I called for taxi clearance. Clearance to taxi to 30R hold short of 30L at J. First officer's radio switch was on interphone and ground control had to make 2 calls before we responded. Ground again repeated the clearance with the addition of hold short of G for inbound aircraft. Rather than making a sweeping left turn and exiting the ramp at B2 (jet blast on ramp area) I turned and taxied slowly on the inner to both exit the ramp at G and pass behind the inbound at G. I noticed 3 vehicles (a van, truck, and another van) in a line parked on the roadway. The roadway is adjacent to and part of the inner taxiway. The 3 vehicles were parked west of G and north of the white line marking the roadway for vehicle traffic. The white line does not insure wing tip clearance. These vehicles often park on this roadway that runs the length of the inner and are not radio equipped. There were no personnel visible. I was approximately 1' off the yellow line towards the terminal (away from the 3 vehicles). As I approached the vehicles I looked left and believed there was ample clearance to pass. The inbound aircraft had cleared G so I continued toward G. There was a knock at the cockpit door and the flight service manager (fsm) advised that we had hit the truck with the left wing tip. At the same moment a man was running along the left side of the aircraft waving his arms to stop which I did. Tower, and maintenance was advised of the situation. The aircraft was examined and we were cleared to taxi back to the gate. We blocked in at XX40Z. It seems that the truck ran out of gas and was being serviced by a 4TH truck that was parked on the grass west of the other vehicles. The personnel were apparently between the vehicles when contact was made.

Title: TAXIING ACFT HITS VEHICLE PARKED ON DESIGNATED DRIVE AREA COLOCATED WITH INNER TXWY.

Narrative: REMARKS: CLRNC RECEIVED TO PUSH BACK TAIL WEST, SPOT 82. ACFT PUSHED BACK AT XX26Z FROM GATE B. IT WAS F/O'S LEG SO I CALLED FOR TAXI CLRNC. CLRNC TO TAXI TO 30R HOLD SHORT OF 30L AT J. F/O'S RADIO SWITCH WAS ON INTERPHONE AND GND CTL HAD TO MAKE 2 CALLS BEFORE WE RESPONDED. GND AGAIN REPEATED THE CLRNC WITH THE ADDITION OF HOLD SHORT OF G FOR INBND ACFT. RATHER THAN MAKING A SWEEPING LEFT TURN AND EXITING THE RAMP AT B2 (JET BLAST ON RAMP AREA) I TURNED AND TAXIED SLOWLY ON THE INNER TO BOTH EXIT THE RAMP AT G AND PASS BEHIND THE INBND AT G. I NOTICED 3 VEHICLES (A VAN, TRUCK, AND ANOTHER VAN) IN A LINE PARKED ON THE ROADWAY. THE ROADWAY IS ADJACENT TO AND PART OF THE INNER TXWY. THE 3 VEHICLES WERE PARKED WEST OF G AND NORTH OF THE WHITE LINE MARKING THE ROADWAY FOR VEHICLE TFC. THE WHITE LINE DOES NOT INSURE WING TIP CLRNC. THESE VEHICLES OFTEN PARK ON THIS ROADWAY THAT RUNS THE LENGTH OF THE INNER AND ARE NOT RADIO EQUIPPED. THERE WERE NO PERSONNEL VISIBLE. I WAS APPROX 1' OFF THE YELLOW LINE TOWARDS THE TERMINAL (AWAY FROM THE 3 VEHICLES). AS I APCHED THE VEHICLES I LOOKED LEFT AND BELIEVED THERE WAS AMPLE CLRNC TO PASS. THE INBND ACFT HAD CLRED G SO I CONTINUED TOWARD G. THERE WAS A KNOCK AT THE COCKPIT DOOR AND THE FLT SERVICE MGR (FSM) ADVISED THAT WE HAD HIT THE TRUCK WITH THE LEFT WING TIP. AT THE SAME MOMENT A MAN WAS RUNNING ALONG THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ACFT WAVING HIS ARMS TO STOP WHICH I DID. TWR, AND MAINT WAS ADVISED OF THE SITUATION. THE ACFT WAS EXAMINED AND WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI BACK TO THE GATE.
