Narrative:
While on approach to runway 4R at jfk; aircraft encountered wake turbulence from heavy B747 and descended below assigned altitude of 2;000 ft while on autopilot. ILS was fully coupled on the localizer and was joining the glideslope. After occurrence and recovery; the aircraft was again fully stabilized prior to the final approach fix. Aircraft was recovered to assigned altitude without incident; incursion or impact to other aircraft.
