Narrative:

While on final approach to 17R at denver, an medium large transport pilot started a verbal diatribe on the tower frequency. He was complaining about the taxi technique of the pilot in front of him and he completely blocked the tower frequency for over a minute on 2 occasions. While he was calling the pilot in front of him a 'jerk' and saying he was going to turn him in to a safety hotline I could not determine whether I had clearance to land. Just prior to initiating a go around we got clearance to land. Denver clears taxiing aircraft to tower frequency as the turn north on taxiway Z (near approach end of 35L). If you taxi to 35R you are on tower frequency for a considerable period, but taxiing to 17L you are on it forever.
