Narrative:

Clearing runway 22R at taxiway G. Ewr ground instructed us to taxi 'G; a; contact ramp.' I checked the commercially produced airport page and attempted to contact ramp. After several attempts; lga port authority replied that we were on their frequency. At that point I checked our tailored airport information page and found [the correct] ramp frequency. When I contacted ramp on that frequency; ramp snapped back that we should have contacted them a thousand feet ago. We were still on taxiway a; had not passed in front of any aircraft exiting the alleyways or ramps; or crossed lines demarking the non-movement area.
