Narrative:

During the touchdown phase of the landing, approximately 25-50' above the runway, our aircraft was affected by a jet blast from an large transport located on a hold area adjacent to the runway entrance at the end of the runway. A slight crosswind existed from the right which was most likely our saving grace. Had not the right wing been held down during the landing approach, the results might have been catastrophic. We were centerline prior to the incident and the jet blast affect severely yawed, rolled, and positioned our aircraft off the center line. Recovery was made with application of flight controls and power, the landing was continued to an uneventful touchdown. During rollout, I advised the tower of a dangerous situation, and of course had the attention of all on the frequency. My chief pilot and I discussed the matter, and I spoke to the tower supervisor by phone shortly after gate arrival. The tower personnel did not know of the potential hazard until our report.

RECOVERY WAS MADE WITH APPLICATION OF FLT CONTROLS AND POWER, THE LNDG WAS CONTINUED TO AN UNEVENTFUL TOUCHDOWN. DURING ROLLOUT, I ADVISED THE TWR OF A DANGEROUS SITUATION, AND OF COURSE HAD THE ATTN OF ALL ON THE FREQ. MY CHIEF PLT AND I DISCUSSED THE MATTER, AND I SPOKE TO THE TWR SUPVR BY PHONE SHORTLY AFTER GATE ARRIVAL. THE TWR PERSONNEL DID NOT KNOW OF THE POTENTIAL HAZARD UNTIL OUR REPORT.
