Narrative:

On takeoff roll we had a bird strike. Aborted takeoff at 78 KTS. Returned to gate. Post flight inspection revealed significant damage to the number 1 engine fan blades. Try outfitting the airport with carbide cannons (they use them to scare off predators and birds of prey on turkey farms). Have them fire off before takeoffs are initiated. Just an idea.
