Narrative:

Flight from NAS to fll was cleared to descend cross dekal at 6000'. Sometime between 20-10,000' traffic was called out by ZMA, 'small aircraft VFR 7500, 11 O'clock, 5 mi.' copilot replied 'roger, we'll look for him'. At about 10,000' again center said, 'traffic 11 O'clock 1 mi'. Copilot replied 'roger in sight'. I was flying and was following the lane visually. We were on very parallel courses. We're doing 340 KTS with speed brakes extended. We descended through 7500 and not close enough to see a person. The small aircraft called ATC 'who was that airliner off our right?' ATC 'air carrier medium large transport'. 'Well we just had to fly through his wash and don't appreciate that'. Center said something then the small aircraft said 'we don't think he saw us'. The few times in my 25 yrs of flying that we've descended through a called out altitude and aircraft, they have been in sight or we level off 500 above until clear. I did resent a pilot thinking me so stupid as to do otherwise. If he got in our wash it would have taken a right turn on his part.

Title: GA SMA PLT COMPLAINT ABOUT CROSSING WAKE TURBULENCE FROM A PASSING ACR MLG.

Narrative: FLT FROM NAS TO FLL WAS CLRED TO DSND CROSS DEKAL AT 6000'. SOMETIME BETWEEN 20-10,000' TFC WAS CALLED OUT BY ZMA, 'SMA VFR 7500, 11 O'CLOCK, 5 MI.' COPLT REPLIED 'ROGER, WE'LL LOOK FOR HIM'. AT ABOUT 10,000' AGAIN CENTER SAID, 'TFC 11 O'CLOCK 1 MI'. COPLT REPLIED 'ROGER IN SIGHT'. I WAS FLYING AND WAS FOLLOWING THE LANE VISUALLY. WE WERE ON VERY PARALLEL COURSES. WE'RE DOING 340 KTS WITH SPEED BRAKES EXTENDED. WE DESCENDED THROUGH 7500 AND NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO SEE A PERSON. THE SMA CALLED ATC 'WHO WAS THAT AIRLINER OFF OUR RIGHT?' ATC 'ACR MLG'. 'WELL WE JUST HAD TO FLY THROUGH HIS WASH AND DON'T APPRECIATE THAT'. CENTER SAID SOMETHING THEN THE SMA SAID 'WE DON'T THINK HE SAW US'. THE FEW TIMES IN MY 25 YRS OF FLYING THAT WE'VE DESCENDED THROUGH A CALLED OUT ALT AND ACFT, THEY HAVE BEEN IN SIGHT OR WE LEVEL OFF 500 ABOVE UNTIL CLEAR. I DID RESENT A PLT THINKING ME SO STUPID AS TO DO OTHERWISE. IF HE GOT IN OUR WASH IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN A RIGHT TURN ON HIS PART.
