Narrative:
On VFR flight plan with student to gbn; talking to luke approach on 125.45 (com 1) flight service (com 2). On western heading at altitude of 4;500. Luke approach informed us of possible traffic conflict '12 o'clock; 1 mile; 4;500; eastbound.' at that point ip took controls from student; reduced throttle and turned to right (north). Aircraft Y was observed passing overhead less than 300 feet. Aircraft Y was not communicating with luke and on an east heading with an altitude of 4;500.

Narrative: On VFR flight plan with student to GBN; talking to Luke Approach on 125.45 (com 1) Flight Service (com 2). On western heading at altitude of 4;500. Luke Approach informed us of possible traffic conflict '12 o'clock; 1 mile; 4;500; eastbound.' At that point IP took controls from student; reduced throttle and turned to right (north). Aircraft Y was observed passing overhead less than 300 feet. Aircraft Y was not communicating with Luke and on an east heading with an altitude of 4;500.
