Narrative:

I contacted the tower 9 DME southeast and was given instructions for, 'straight in runway 32L,, report 2 mi final.' I had the airport in sight at this point and 32R was visible, but not 32L. At approximately 2.5 DME out I contacted the tower. I was given traffic departing, '1L, an small transport, caution wake turbulence.' I was using the VASI on 32R for G/south reference because of the long straight in. I still had not picked out the displaced threshold for 32L. I knew it (32L) begins north of 1L. My attention was being diverted by the small transport on 1L and another aircraft on landing 32R. In my distraction I lined up on taxiway bravo, even though I could see 'taxi' on the portion south of charlie. I continued my approach to bravo thinking, 'where are the threshold markers?' I know it's just beyond 1L. At the same moment the tower called, 'xx, go around.' I saw the 32L marker and had started a go around. I returned and landed on 32R.

Narrative: I CONTACTED THE TWR 9 DME SE AND WAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS FOR, 'STRAIGHT IN RWY 32L,, RPT 2 MI FINAL.' I HAD THE ARPT IN SIGHT AT THIS POINT AND 32R WAS VISIBLE, BUT NOT 32L. AT APPROX 2.5 DME OUT I CONTACTED THE TWR. I WAS GIVEN TFC DEPARTING, '1L, AN SMT, CAUTION WAKE TURB.' I WAS USING THE VASI ON 32R FOR G/S REF BECAUSE OF THE LONG STRAIGHT IN. I STILL HAD NOT PICKED OUT THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD FOR 32L. I KNEW IT (32L) BEGINS N OF 1L. MY ATTN WAS BEING DIVERTED BY THE SMT ON 1L AND ANOTHER ACFT ON LNDG 32R. IN MY DISTR I LINED UP ON TXWY BRAVO, EVEN THOUGH I COULD SEE 'TAXI' ON THE PORTION S OF CHARLIE. I CONTINUED MY APCH TO BRAVO THINKING, 'WHERE ARE THE THRESHOLD MARKERS?' I KNOW IT'S JUST BEYOND 1L. AT THE SAME MOMENT THE TWR CALLED, 'XX, GO AROUND.' I SAW THE 32L MARKER AND HAD STARTED A GAR. I RETURNED AND LANDED ON 32R.
