Narrative:

After departing thv, I climbed to 4500' VFR and maintained this altitude for my southwesterly heading. I tried calling ZDC twice on 118.75 for VFR traffic advisories, but got no response. The first call was made approximately 10 mins after departure. I was navigating to the mrb VOR. At approximately the robrt intersection, I tried the dulles approach on 126.1 for VFR traffic advisories and got no response. I monitored 126.1. I was navigating on V39/V143 and was able to contact dulles approach at the mapel intersection. I informed dulles of my altitude, route and destination. They gave me a transponder code and I continued on to my next stop. After picking up my next passenger we continued on to mqi. In the early evening of 4/89 I was notified by a friend to call the richmond secret service. He informed me that in 4/89, while going on V39/V143 between thv and the mrb VOR, I may have inadvertently got into the R4009 or P40 areas. He asked me some questions about my trip. Later that night, I talked with raleigh secret service. He also asked about my trip. He told me to call him back at his office # in 4/89. I did and he informed me the secret service was satisfied the alleged entry into the restr areas was inadvertent, and they were not going to pursue the matter any further. They were dismissing the investigation. I have been doing dual radio checks. In 4/89 I had a ramp check on the radios. The #1 radio was 2 degrees off and the #2 radio was 3 degrees off.

Title: FLYING AN AIRWAY, POSSIBLY STRAYED INTO PROHIBITED AND RESTRICTED AREA.

Narrative: AFTER DEPARTING THV, I CLBED TO 4500' VFR AND MAINTAINED THIS ALT FOR MY SOUTHWESTERLY HDG. I TRIED CALLING ZDC TWICE ON 118.75 FOR VFR TFC ADVISORIES, BUT GOT NO RESPONSE. THE FIRST CALL WAS MADE APPROX 10 MINS AFTER DEP. I WAS NAVIGATING TO THE MRB VOR. AT APPROX THE ROBRT INTXN, I TRIED THE DULLES APCH ON 126.1 FOR VFR TFC ADVISORIES AND GOT NO RESPONSE. I MONITORED 126.1. I WAS NAVIGATING ON V39/V143 AND WAS ABLE TO CONTACT DULLES APCH AT THE MAPEL INTXN. I INFORMED DULLES OF MY ALT, ROUTE AND DEST. THEY GAVE ME A XPONDER CODE AND I CONTINUED ON TO MY NEXT STOP. AFTER PICKING UP MY NEXT PAX WE CONTINUED ON TO MQI. IN THE EARLY EVENING OF 4/89 I WAS NOTIFIED BY A FRIEND TO CALL THE RICHMOND SECRET SVC. HE INFORMED ME THAT IN 4/89, WHILE GOING ON V39/V143 BTWN THV AND THE MRB VOR, I MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY GOT INTO THE R4009 OR P40 AREAS. HE ASKED ME SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT MY TRIP. LATER THAT NIGHT, I TALKED WITH RALEIGH SECRET SVC. HE ALSO ASKED ABOUT MY TRIP. HE TOLD ME TO CALL HIM BACK AT HIS OFFICE # IN 4/89. I DID AND HE INFORMED ME THE SECRET SVC WAS SATISFIED THE ALLEGED ENTRY INTO THE RESTR AREAS WAS INADVERTENT, AND THEY WERE NOT GOING TO PURSUE THE MATTER ANY FURTHER.
