Narrative:
Fuel xfeed valve failed (in transit) position. The aircraft already had a bad #1 fuel quantity indicator (as it turned out, the xfeed valve froze). Descending through 4000' at sfo, the valve unfroze. Recommend a heat source for all xfeed valves.

Title: FUEL CROSSFEED VALVE FROZE IN IN-TRANSIT POSITION DURING CRUISE. VALVE BECAME UNSTUCK DESCENDING THROUGH 4000' AT SFO.
Narrative: FUEL XFEED VALVE FAILED (IN TRANSIT) POSITION. THE ACFT ALREADY HAD A BAD #1 FUEL QUANTITY INDICATOR (AS IT TURNED OUT, THE XFEED VALVE FROZE). DESCENDING THROUGH 4000' AT SFO, THE VALVE UNFROZE. RECOMMEND A HEAT SOURCE FOR ALL XFEED VALVES.
