Narrative:
[We] departed runway 28R at sfo. We were in a 737-900 with a takeoff weight of 180;000 pounds. Typically we use runway 1R for departure; but due to our weight; [runway] 1R was too short. We got the clearance for the quiet 4 departure. The tower changed our clearance to heading of 050 on departure. We had departed normally; but as we turned to the north in the climb we got a terrain; terrain warning. We increased our pitch and the warning ended.
