Narrative:

While en route, on our clearance we mistook the clearance 'barretts mtn, to linco intersection' and instead we started barretts mtn to lynno intersection. Both pilots were new to this routing and both misunderstood the intersection name - linco is 203 degree off bzm and lynno is 115 degree off bzm, both approximately 20-25 NM from bzm. There was no conflict and it is suggested that intxns which sound so similar not be used in such a close area to one another. Supplemental information from acn 108919: I was flying as a new captain with a new company with a new first officer (new to the company also) on a route that I was not familiar with in mod turbulence. My first officer was navigating for me and misread the intersection we were supposed to go to (linco). We started to go to lynno.
