Narrative:

While climbing through 12;000 ft on departure; we received a fuel low level 1 message warning with the wing tank 2 indications going to zero. We immediately turned back toward the airport for an emergency landing after running the fuel low level qrc. We made an uneventful landing and proceeded to the gate after being inspected for fuel leaks by the arff (airport rescue and fire fighters) equipment. We received an erroneous indication of no fuel in the number one wing tank and returned to the departure airport.

Title: The pilots of an Embraer 145 received an erroneous low fuel warning during climb and observed one fuel quantity indicator going to zero. The crew turned towards the departure field; ran the low low level checklist; and made a safe landing.

Narrative: While climbing through 12;000 FT on departure; we received a FUEL LOW LEVEL 1 message warning with the wing tank 2 indications going to zero. We immediately turned back toward the airport for an emergency landing after running the fuel low level QRC. We made an uneventful landing and proceeded to the gate after being inspected for fuel leaks by the ARFF (Airport Rescue and Fire Fighters) equipment. We received an erroneous indication of no fuel in the number one wing tank and returned to the departure airport.
