Narrative:

While being vectored for an approach to runway 14R at ord, we were given a heading (right turn from our westerly heading) of 080 degrees and a descent to 3000' from 4000'. As we passed 060 degrees the approach controller told us to maintain our present heading and 'tell me when you want to land.' the captain and I did not know what was wrong as the controller did not tell us. After landing the captain called the supervisor who told us our rate of turn was too slow. We prefer to operate our aircraft at no greater than standard rate turns and pitch attitudes of not greater than 15 degrees and 10 degrees, unless it is necessary to do so. If the approach controller wanted, or needed, a greater than standard rate turn he should have requested a tighter turn. We are more than happy to cooperate but we need to have good communication so that both aircraft and controllers can coordinate operations better.

Title: MLG GIVEN VECTOR MADE TOO SLOW A TURN TO SATISFY RADAR CTLR.

Narrative: WHILE BEING VECTORED FOR AN APCH TO RWY 14R AT ORD, WE WERE GIVEN A HDG (RIGHT TURN FROM OUR WESTERLY HDG) OF 080 DEGS AND A DSCNT TO 3000' FROM 4000'. AS WE PASSED 060 DEGS THE APCH CTLR TOLD US TO MAINTAIN OUR PRESENT HDG AND 'TELL ME WHEN YOU WANT TO LAND.' THE CAPT AND I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG AS THE CTLR DID NOT TELL US. AFTER LNDG THE CAPT CALLED THE SUPVR WHO TOLD US OUR RATE OF TURN WAS TOO SLOW. WE PREFER TO OPERATE OUR ACFT AT NO GREATER THAN STANDARD RATE TURNS AND PITCH ATTITUDES OF NOT GREATER THAN 15 DEGS AND 10 DEGS, UNLESS IT IS NECESSARY TO DO SO. IF THE APCH CTLR WANTED, OR NEEDED, A GREATER THAN STANDARD RATE TURN HE SHOULD HAVE REQUESTED A TIGHTER TURN. WE ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO COOPERATE BUT WE NEED TO HAVE GOOD COM SO THAT BOTH ACFT AND CTLRS CAN COORDINATE OPS BETTER.
