Narrative:

While on approach to 3R at dtw, we were involved in configuring the airplane for landing. At this time we saw an air carrier medium large transport parallel to us. We decided he was on the ILS to 3L and discussed the legality of parallel ILS approachs. During this time of heavy cockpit load and distraction, we drifted left of the 3R ILS centerline. We observed this deviation and immediately corrected to the right. We had the localizer needle centered when ATC broke us off from the approach to 3R.
